About my approach

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”

~ Carl Rogers

My approach is person-centred, a long-established form of therapy based on empathy, honesty and unconditional acceptance. Clients have told me I offer a soothing, grounding presence that helps create a safe environment for gaining new perspectives and empowering you to make changes that are right for you.

Having a background in studying English literature and facilitating creative writing workshops, I bring a sensitivity for creative practices to my work as a counsellor and welcome enquiries about how this can form a part of therapy.

I also specialise in outdoor therapy, also knowns as “walk and talk therapy”. I have a personal and clinical interest in the benefits that time outdoors in natural, green spaces can offer, and have 4 years’ experience delivering an outdoor therapy service with Living Well Consortium for NHS Talking Therapy clients. I am always happy to explore with clients who are interested ways in which nurturing a connection with the natural world can both complement and inform our work together.
